Donor Stewardship Program

Added by George Bettas on January 21, 2010

We believe that the best way for our donors to understand our projects is to come out into the field with us to see what we are doing. Until you observe the capture, immobilization and work up of a grizzly bear in the field, it’s difficult to comprehend the full scope of this project.   Carolyn and Gary Dietrich participated on one of our donor stewardship field excursions in September 2009 to see our Grizzly Bear Augmentation project.  Carolyn’s comments about the trip were, “It was such a thrill being there and watching the entire process.  What amazed me the most was the care given the bear with oxygen, penicillan, blindfolds, and temperature.  The experience was educational and the bear, itself, was a perfect speciman in every way!  I appreciate the opportunity and the thrill!

Carolyn Dietrich admires a 700 pound male grizzly bear caught as part of a Condon, MT research project.

We strongly encourage our donors to experience our projects in person through our Donor Stewardship Program.
