George A. Bettas, Executive Director (Stevensville, MT)
George moved to Montana in 2002 to become the Executive Director of the Boone and Crockett Club in Missoula, MT. Prior to moving to Montana, George was a senior administer and faculty member at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. He retired as the Vice-Provost, Student Affairs after 32 years at W.S.U. George has served on the boards of a number of conservation organizations including the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (Board Chair), Mule Deer Foundation (Founder and Past President), Boone and Crockett Club (Regular Member 1989 and Past Administrative Vice President) and the Jack Creek Preserve Foundation (Board Member). He is a strong supporter of and advocate for stewardship education programs and conservation programs designed to conserve our wildlife and natural resources. George and his brother, Richard, own and operate their family ranch of nearly 80 years near Ellensburg, WA. George and his wife, Bobbi, live near Stevensville, Montana.
Samantha (Sam) Lavin, Administrative Assistant (Helena, MT)
Sam and her husband, Shane Castle, moved from Alaska to Helena in 2008. Sam received her BA degree in business administration with a major in accounting from the University of Alaska, Anchorage. She began her professional career in Helena in 2008 working for the state of Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services and, most recently, the Department of Revenue. She and her husband, Shane, own and operate The Helena Vigilante where she is a writer, office manager and handles advertising sales. Sam has been a volunteer in wildlife rehabilitation and public education at Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Wild Montana for the past three years. In this role, she does public outreach and educational programming as well as providing care for orphaned, injured or otherwise debilitated wildlife. She is a procupine education specialist and is fondly known among school children as the “porcupine lady!”
