MONTANA WILDLIFE LEGACY FILM PREMIERES IN HELENA
A new documentary film that chronicles the role Montanans played in the restoration of the state's wildlife populations will premiere with a free public showing Dec. 2, 2005 in Helena.
"Back from the Brink-Montana's Wildlife Legacy" will be shown at 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 2 at the Myrna Loy Theater. The evening is free, but seating is limited and will be first come, first served. The Montana Wildlife Federation and the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Foundation are sponsoring the free showing.
The two-hour film, narrated by actor Joseph Campanella, portrays Montana's past 200-year relationship with wildlife and records the Montana wildlife experience from exploitation and depletion through restoration and renewal.
"This historical documentary shows the important role the people of Montana had in restoring the state's wildlife populations," said Don Childress, chief of FWP's wildlife division in Helena. "The film also shows that today's wildlife abundance is a gift that continues to require our constant attention to ensure that the state's wildlife will never again have to brought back from the brink."
Terry Lonner, of Media Works Studio in Bozeman, produced the film. The FWP Foundation, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, the Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Program, and Montana Public Broadcasting provided major funding and support.
